(pls. allow me, i know this, obviously, is not the site for me to vent my feelings towards the film)
Yes. I have read these more than once. I was exceedingly entertained by them. Austen’s always has entertained me. However, I am very sorry to articulate that i was enormously disappointed when i saw the film. My creative part of mind and expressive emotions sensed when i was reading was very incomparable when i watched the film. And concerning the scenes, though i expected incoherence considering that the film was simply an adaptation, the inconsistencies were too numerous.
In persuasion:
In the novel, Miss Anne Elliot never gave a hint that she knew the Crofts rather she never knew the Crofts at all. She only gave a sense of familiarity when Mr. Shepherd shared about Mrs. Crofts being a sister of Captain Wentworth. However, in the film, when the very name Croft was mentioned, she abruptly reacted giving us the idea that she already knew them. Another was the giving of letter by Captain Wentworth, In the novel, Anne was in a room together with her relations and Wentworth who was writing the letter at the moment then hurried to go out with his friend giving the finished letter to Anne; however in the film, Anne, after reading the letter of Wentworth given by a friend whom she dared visiting herself, was chasing the Crofts hoping that Wentworth was with them . (the inconsistencies were too numerous to mention)
In Pride and Prejudice:
In the novel, Elizabeth Bennet met Mr. Darcy again while she and her aunt and uncle were strolling outside the vicinity of Pemberley. However, in the film, it was revealed that Lizzy met Mr.Darcy again in his own abode with his sister Gorgiana playing the pianoforte. This was not narrated in the novel. Another was the coming of Lady Catherine in Bennet’s abode. In the novel, it was stated that she came in at daylight asking Lizzy to get a stroll outside and there informed Lizzy regarding the betrothal of Miss de Bourgh and Mr. Darcy since infancy. However, in the film, Lady Catherine arrived nightly informing Lizzy of the betrothal inside Bennet’s abode.(many more inconsistencies)
